Klara picked up her first paint brush in 2020. She practiced intuitively and sporadically over the years, always gravitating to the canvas to process (otherwise indescribable) emotions and the world around her.

Over the last year this innate desire, this irrevocable need to, paint has rapidly consumed her.

Klara’s work oscillates between the beautiful and the unsettling. In her work, she is interested in vulnerability, emotion, and contrasting stories; especially when they meet all blur. The stable and the instable; the firm and the fluid; the vulnerable and the vulgar; the desired and the repulsed; the whole and the unfinished.

In this way, her work aims to bring to canvas this ever present reality - opposing truths can all exist at once. Klara’s personal emotions, thus motivation to paint, is deeply prevalent in all her work; however, she invites the viewer to allow themselves to decide what each piece says to themselves. She invites them to feel and ask why.

Klara’s parent’s are Polish immigrants, she was born in Belgium, grew primary in the US, and now lives in New York City.
